PRIVACY POLICY OF REPUBLICA GMBH
For the republica GmbH, the protection of personal data is of great importance. We hereby want to inform you where and for what purpose we store data. As a private enterprise, we are subject to the regulations of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (Telemediengesetz or TMG).

Personal Data
You can generally use our website without revealing your identity. When you register for a personalized offer on our site, such as the Call for Papers or the Call for Help, we will ask for your name and other personal details. As a speaker, your profile will be published within the Call for Papers, but we will not publish your email address or phone number. As a helper, your profile will not be published. All data is stored on secure servers in Germany. Access is restricted to selected authorized users involved in technical, commercial or editorial support.

For security purposes, website access data is stored on our servers that may permit identification (e.g. your IP address, date, time and pages visited). There is no evaluation of personal data; your IP address is anonymized 14 days after it is recorded. Any statistical analysis of data is anonymous. We store IP addresses for a maximum of 14 days. The data is stored for reasons of data security, in order to ensure the stability and reliability of our system.

Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
We do not share information with third parties, unless required to disclose data to authorities by court order or by law. The purpose of any collection, storage, processing and use of personalized data is limited to the organization and realization of the re:publica conference.

Cancellation Rights
Personal information you have provided us with can be deleted at any time. Data used for billing and accounting purposes is not affected. If you wish to delete your data, please send an informal e-mail to: info at re-publica.de.

Collection and Storage of User Data
For site optimisation purposes, we collect and store traffic data, such as date and time of requests, the referring page from which you accessed our site, and similar information. This happens anonymously, without personal identification of the user. User profiles can be created pseudonymously if necessary. Again, there is no connection between the pseudonymous individual and the anonymous data collected. To evaluate our site usage data, we also use cookies. This data is collected for statistical purposes only, and is used to further optimise our online presence for users.
