Stage: May 5, 18:15 - 18:25
Presentation: Augmented Translation
At re:publica TEN and Performersion, we at KITA (http://kitaonline.com) will give you a sense of the complexity of creating surtitles for theatre, present the latest technical options and also collaborate on visions for the future with you. We will place particular focus on the use of augmented reality glasses, which can be used to offer multi-lingual surtitles, provide a solution for site-specific performance, but also open up new artistic dimensions. Experimental artists, theatre-makers, technicians, AR programmers and anyone else who’s curious are all welcome to join us. We look forward to a discussion with you!
Our name stands for Kleine Internationale Theater Agentur (Small International Theatre Agency). We manage any language-related challenge that may occur before, during or after a theatre production. Our main focus is surtitling and the translation of theatre texts. We offer translation into almost any language and specialise in professional surtitles for foreign-language productions in Berlin, at international festivals, and surtitles specifically for theatre productions, ensembles and artists on tour. The area of surtitling is increasingly becoming a craft of its own in theatres and experience has proven that it also makes sense to take your own surtitler on tour, someone who knows the play very well and can react quickly to the unexpected. Every project is unique and deserves to be looked after individually. We adapt to each specific situation and look for innovative solutions. At re:publica TEN and Performersion, we hope to find new collaborators for creative exchange and potential partnerships on exciting new projects!
