This one day workshop offers an insight into the strategies, methodologies, collective process and working without a director, that Gob Squad use when creating new work. The workshop will look at some of the processes used when devising Dancing About – a Gob Squad show in repertoire at Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz Berlin.We will explore strategies employed by Gob Squad including devising text, performance and improvisational structures to build a performance around the personal and the autobiographical.
Gob Squad is a German/English collective that has been working together for more than 20 years. Characterised by a desire to place the beautiful in the mundane.Their performances often site home made magic and spectacle next to the banality of everyday life.
